Lake Worth ISD selected E3 as its design-build partner for District-wide solutions addressing aging HVAC equipment, outdated lighting systems, and non-aligned energy management systems.
E3 developed multiple studies to analyze the appropriate track to take in addressing the aging equipment in phases that would be manageable budget wise and different approaches in doing so.
Upon entering into an agreement, Lake Worth and E3 rapidly developed the optimal plan for execution over the summer months to minimize academic disruption. The project entailed:
• 89 HVAC unit replacements across three ISD buildings
• Roof replacement
• Districtwide LED retrofit
• District wide EMS centralization and installation
The project was approved in June of 2020 and the bulk of mechanical completed in the summer with the remainder phased in the Fall of 2020. The savings generated as a result of the efficiency upgrades provided a comfortable re-payment schedule of the Maintenance Tax Note utilized to fund the project and allow the District to utilize Fund Balance for other District needs.
